This really works

This really works! It calculates how many calories you need to eat per day in order to gradually lose weight in a healthy way. No foods are excluded, but you get information with nutritional values. You are encouraged to exercise and you can eat a few more calories if you do! You can see your progress on a graph. As recommended by my practice nurse. Start today!

Easy to Use My Fitness Pal

It is so easy to use My Fitness Pal and the app provides great information for health and wellness. It is easy to keep track of nutrition by logging the food diary which provides valuable information about nutrient macros. It is also great for logging physical activity which also tracks calories burned during each activity. Being compatible with my fitness watch is also a valuable asset.

I pretty much like the consistency and the same look - everything can be found easily over the years! Big value! Please do not change anything.
I don't know how many years I've been used the app on my mobile, I had paid plan and free plan.
Paid plan is of course better but if you have temporary money problems or unemployment, you can still count your calories and stay on track with your nutrition. And it's easy to use and I like it's design too, please do not change anything, please just stay as you are!

Life saver

It's simple to use yet it keeps me on track with my eating habits and quantities consumed daily. I can get so much information from this app that I really never thought about before.

Love this app

Love this app! It’s amazingly accurate and I’ve yet to find a food or drink that’s not listed.
It’s an integral part of my day to day to keep track of my nutrition.
Highly recommend. And as a PT I advise all my clients to download it because it works.

Pretty consistent in design

Pretty consistent in design, updates have been structurally helpful without being too different as to “shock” long time users. I wish the calorie goal estimator was based on individual data and weight trends. I also miss the free bar code scanner! Overall I’m happy with being able to see my trends over time and the data base is pretty large and meals/food creators are pretty simple and practical as well. Thank you for all you do!

I have used MyFitnessPal for 12 years

I have used MyFitnessPal for 12 years. I track my weight, and what I am eating. I love that I can scan QR codes for nutrition information. I can calculate nutrition information on my own and recipes I find on line.

I absolutely love this app

I absolutely love this app! Unfortunately it's way too expensive considering I cannot get a full nutritional profile on any item. I want to know the full nutritional label, all the nutrients and their amounts. If the app offered that, I might consider it worth the high price.

As a free user, you can still see macronutrient values of foods by tapping into the food itself, or in the Nutrition page. Please also see this article for more information: https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/articles/15457546881805-What-is-included-in-the-free-version-

A great app for weight management

I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for nearly 11 years and find it invaluable in helping me manage my weight. My only criticism is the delay in opening the app and that it regularly logs out first time so I have to click on it a second time.

I like being able to track my caloric intake. The older I get the more important this becomes.
I am also glad there is a way to reset my tracker, as occasionally I forget to make entries - even though I try to do it every day.

“Add food”

I find the variety of choices under each food heading in “add food” helpful. I look for amount measurements in grams and cross check calories to find something that looks realistic.

The ability to scan bar codes was…

The ability to scan bar codes was important to me. Now it's part of a premium plan. I'll keep typing thank you. It is also beyond my ability to change the weight loss plan. When I set it up, I was trying to diet and exercise. That didn't work, so I had gastric bypass. Everytime I save all the entries for the day I'm shown some of long winded nonsense about taking in enough calories. I take in exactly as much as I need/can.

A little pricey per year as this used to be FREE. I do find when adding item into the app, it is usually off by 100 - 200 calories per day for me. Although I use the app I also track on paper calculating each gram that I measure and eat.

Logging after the fact can be difficult…

Logging after the fact can be difficult due to the need to hit the check mark for both time, and the food item and the meal type. I get it that it may be the only way to have those three data points be flexible, but it seemed easier in the past.

The App needs improvements and better search options.

I think it is terrible the app switched making it's users have to pay in order to scan barcodes. I add food in and users cannot search it and find what I added to select for their food items. If someone makes a food item, it should be uploaded and available to all users who search for it.

Handy and Easy to Use (though sometimes a little off)

It generally works well. My issue with most meal-tracking apps is there are multiple entries for the same item; sometimes their measurements are in Metric, other times in Imperial - and a person always has to think in fractions or decimals. It would be great if there was more of a standard to the food items listed. Also, I’d like to be better able to track added sugars (separately from naturally-occurring sugars). This doesn’t seem to reflect properly. For instance, one day I added a bakery item that very clearly was made by adding sugar in the recipe, but the ‘added sugar’ category said ‘0’. I knew that wasn’t right! This can be confusing and frustrating when I’m tracking sugars along with my Macros. But overall, the app is pretty handy.

App has degraded over time with features removed

You degraded the app over time. Can no longer see nutrition totals for each separate meal. Used to be able to use barcode scan to enter meal items. That's gone. Both were helpful. Yet you still have the ads which should be sufficient income to provide those features which should be little or no cost to you. You should provide a glucose tracking feature for entering blood sugar numbers similar to the way that weights are entered but you don't. Recipe discovery is unnecessary. App has become disappointing. Entering food items for a meal is a lot of guesswork because there are so many different nutrient values available for the exact same food item and you can't tell which are accurate and which are not. Even the ones that are marked by the Green Dot which are supposed to be verified are inconsistent with each other for the very same food item making it unreliable in that regard.

Great way to maintain a caloric deficit or surplus!

Great app for tracking calories and macros. Aside from being able to scan in barcodes, it has lots of entries for things like burgers, subs, etc (for those of us who don't go so far as to weigh meal ingredients). You can enter 1.3 times your meal if you think your burger was extra fatty, or you can just enter in some empty calories.

Very good tool for nutritional intake

I have been using the free version of MyFitnessPal and I find it to be very good. Their database is pretty extensive and I like that you can add your own things to it. I also like the options of how to show the nutritional values you've taken in for the day and the estimated weight if you keep with the same nutritional intake.

Very happy with Fitness Pal

I'm not new to Fitness Pal, I did however just need to sign in to the app again. I have been using for years and mostly use the app to track exercise. I have in the past logged my food intake, however I no longer need that feature as I eat well on my own.
