Bad Service from Mutual of Omaha Mortgage Company

Yeah, I'm not too happy with Mutual of Omaha mortgage services. After a little over a year, they went and sold our mortgage to a different servicer, that pisses me off! They also lost a check I mailed them, which miraculously showed up 3 weeks later, which they cashed after I was forced to send them another check to replace the lost one. In spite of their incompetence and receiving two payments that month, they also hit me with a $79 late fee that they would not reverse. I wouldn't waste my time with them!

GREAT REVERSE MORTGAGE EXPERIENCE

I just completed my reverse mortgage, working with Barbra Blair. The whole reverse mortgage process was easy and moved along quickly. Barbra was always quick to answer my emails and just a wonderful person to work with. I would highly recommend her for your reverse mortgage.

Service at it's finest!

Jim Scheffler and his team were instrumental during the prequalification and application process. He informed us of all the available programs that were out there and answered any question we had right away. We had wanted to make an offer on a property over a weekend and he was able to get us the information that we needed that same day. This is service at it's finest!

Courteous and professional

My agent Shawn he was totally awesome he was efficient he was clear and he moved this process along extremely expeditiously. He let you know exactly what you need and by when you need it as he gets it he's right on it moving you along in your process I can't say enough about him he's really good.

My broker

My broker, Jeremy Tarwater, has been amazing from the start. It was evident that he was invested in the outcome of my house purchase and cared about my family, not just a paycheck. That made all the difference in his customer service. He took the time to get to know us and was an ally throughout the entire process. I wish more businesses understood the value of customer relationships as much as Mr. Tarwater does.

I have dealt with mortgage companies on past houses, but really felt like Tony cared. Maybe he is just a really good salesman (in which case, props for that) but I didn't feel the need to shop around more with other banks because he made me comfortable.

Scott Ponick is very knowledgeable. I came across a problem on my credit report, regarding an account with my ex-husband. Scott promised he would help me. He had me get in contact with the right people at FHA and the issue was resolved and I got approved. I'm grateful to him and to Mutual of Omaha for having such a professional and caring agent.

MOO processes claims accurately with…

MOO processes claims accurately with clear explanations and always I get answers and service if needed when I call.

Be mindful they follow Medicare so if there is any issue it most likely will be with the provider not correctly coding treatment rendered. Be sure to confirm your provider accepts approved Medicare rates.

A+ Mortgage Officers & App

Our mortgage officer was amazing! Joe Ansonia made sure that we had the best loan for us, and went out of his way to make sure we had access to all programs to help us make an informed decisions. Any time we had a question I knew that we could reach out to Joe and he would be able to answer it without an issue. The app for Mutual of Omaha Mortgage was user friendly and helped us to have a clear list of what was needed for us. Relieved a lot of the confusion and stress of buying a home!

Great communication and Peter was very nice and honest and upfront with the process and very fast. We had an issue with finding the right house but also had a deadline as we already sold our other house. He was able to make it work when we found the right house and still close on our original closing date.

I chose the wrong initiating location

I chose the wrong initiating location, rather than the wrong company. Or I should say it was chosen for me, even though they are 2,000 mi. away from me. When I called the 800 number, I was directed to the San Diego branch. Little did I know, I'd be doomed from the start. They asked for redundant submission of documents, they had little communication with me, and were constantly dangling the carrot. The only way the underwriters have any communication with the initiating officer, is the utilization of the information they harvest. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing here. One's initiating officer can quit, or be fired on a whim, and the one who applied for the RM suffers for it. After 85% of the "hoop jumping" was completed, I bowed out due to their incompetence, and their remarkable talent of being inept. The San Diego branch is all puffed up on their own self-designated importance. Possibly they are punch-drunk on that California Coastal Kool-Aid. Here again, I believe the problem was the specific branch I dealt with, and not MoO as a whole. The only good that came from this total waste of time, is that it did defer me to choose another company, which I have been more than happy with.

Friendly and helpful

Friendly, competent people. Kim was great. They had a good interest rate and called me right away. Kim also gave me helpful pointers even though she knew I probably was going with another lender. I will definitely consider them for my next mortgage.

Great info, and friendly help

After attending the online webinar where I learned a lot about the VA mortgage process, I was contacted by an agent that collected information and was able to tell me what I was qualified for. I am still a year out from a home purchase, and even though I told them this, they were still very helpful and not pushy at all.

Appraiser sent out had no clue what she…

Appraiser sent out had no clue what she was doing and MO loan office Aaron Mcgill was no help after making tons of promises. I never received an appraisal report and was treated rudely each time I called to speak of the matter. TERRIBLE COMPANY
I find your response very disturbing as it was a lie!! Once again, terrible company!!

Dear Ms. Mondello,

We are sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied with your interactions with our staff. Sometimes our staff must deliver unwelcome news. In the case, the property which you’ve attempted to refinance does not conform to FHA lending guidelines and is therefore ineligible for financing.

Since that appraisal report could not be completed, we have refunded your appraisal fees, less, the appraiser’s “trip fee” which was assessed to us by the Appraisal Management Company. We have since learned that you have separately received a refund for the trip fee directly from the appraiser. Since the appraisal report could not be completed, there is no appraisal report to provide to you.

We wish you success in your attempts to procure financing through other avenues.
