Nightmarish experience with Customer Service

I placed an internet order and thought all was OK. Then Miles Kimball sent me an email adding a 10.5% tax to the order. My correct tax rate is 8.0% and I had already been charged that when I paid. I was out of the country for the summer and didn't see the email, and when I returned, I found 4 dunning letters threatening to turn my account over to a collections agency. I called and talked to a CSR who had no idea which way was up. She kept repeating things I already knew. Finally she told me someone in collections would send me an email correcting the overcharge. That was two weeks ago and still no email. So my complaints are (1) the incorrect tax, (2) the dunning letters for an amount I didn't owe, (3) the cluelessness and attitude of the CSR, and (4) the failure of Customer Service to follow through in correcting the mistake. Also, I used to teach business writing, and if one of my students had turned in the letters that I got from Miles Kimball, I would have failed that student. The letters didn't even tell me what the charge was for.

Great products

Everything I get from Miles Kimball everyone asked where I get it from. I tell them Miles Kimball I let them see the magazine and they never asked to order nothing so I don’t know but I sure do keep ordering from you and the older I get there’s more things that I need that I can use being elder.

Spam Hell

I've been trying to unsubscribe from their spam for a year but it won't let me. They send so much spam. I bought from them once and have been trapped in spam hell ever since. They send emails multiple times a day AND catalogues in the mail. I hate them so much. I will NEVER buy from them again and will warn everyone else to stay away.

Ordering on line was difficult because…

Ordering on line was difficult because the sales person spoke in broken English. The order was made and when it got delivered the bottom of the box was broken and taped poorly back together. Upon inspection I was missing an item that the invoice said was there. I called back and the person was very helpful and reordered the item that was lost in transit. I just received the item today. Thank you.

Wide selection of high quality items at good prices!

All the products were of high quality and reasonably priced. The wide width shoes fit! The chair cushion was very comfortable. There was one item that was left out, but after contacting customer service it was sent promptly.
Excellent experience! I will go to Miles Kimball first for the products I'm looking for!!

Perfect addition to my sewing room

The delivery was quicker than expected. The quality of my ironing cart was better than expected as well. It was easy to construct and it looks great too. The only negative is there were not clear instructions for attaching the door. My husband was able to drill the holes to make it work.

Ease of ordering over the phone

Ease of ordering over the phone, and free shipping. The associate was knowledgable and pleasant. However I had to say "no thankyou" to the up-sell offers more than once, as she tried to get me to order another item, and join the rewards club.

Great quality and service


The items I ordered arrived quickly and were exactly as described. Both Items were personalized and I liked the fact that i could see the personalization on the item as I ordered it and had the opportunity ti make ant changes before the final order went through.

I like the step stool very good

I like the step stool very good, but with my age of 87, it takes some muscles to move it around, I used it for cleaning above many of my cupbroads, that I haven't cleaned for a long time, it is a very handy step outfit, an I enjoy the handles on it. and the top handle, thanks much

It was easy to order

It was easy to order, products were as listed in catalog, prompt delivery and items arrived in good condition. Loved the sale prices, too, although shipping was a little high.

Defective product

I had an issue with a product I ordered and had a customer service rep that was not helpful at all. However, I called customer service again and they gladly offered to replace the product or give me a refund. If at first you don’t succeed, try try again

Working on completing order

All but 1 items received as ordered, in the timeline needed. The return/exchange of item that was incorrect seems to be going well. Have received confirmation that item was received and the exchange of product that was originally ordered is in the works.

Computer glitch for online order

I had entered online all the info for my 5 item purchase but the final button was grayed out and I couldn’t complete. I had to call and REPEAT EVERYTHING including 3 monogram lettering. That was quite annoying and although the contact repeated everything, I would have been much more confident that everything was spelled correctly if I had been able to complete my online order.

I am always delighted to receive packages from Miles Kimball because they arrive very quickly, in good condition, and either meet or excell my expectations. The cardinal figurine was beautiful. The microwave cookware that I ordered was exactly what I wanted.

0 STARS - WHAT A JOKE

0 STARS! The 1st item arrived badly damaged. The replacement item was never received. Never reimbursed for the 1st item, AND was charged for the replacement item that I never received. I was eventually reimbursed for the replacement item but not the 1st one. Multiple emails sent with no reply. The reason I didn't get the replacement item- UPS said they had a damaged box with NOTHING IN IT. I was sent an empty box. A complaint has been filed with my credit card company.

Order put on hold--asked for money upfront when I have a current account with them and didn't want to issue a credit line before ordering

The order was put on hold and I had to call about it. I was told I didn't have a credit history with them, but had a current account with them and was paying monthly on the account. They wanted a certain amount up front before fulfilling and sending the order I placed online. However, I am all the time receiving catalogs from them asking for me to purchase and pay only a certain amount a month. So I don't understand why they couldn't fulfill the order I recently placed online. Don't send out catalogs encouraging people to order if you aren't going to fulfill the order (Especially given the fact, I already have a current open account with them!)

Thank you for your review. A preapproval means that you have met certain criteria to be offered Preferred Credit. It is much like receiving a credit card offer in the mail. Preapproval does not guarantee approval upon placing an order and a credit check is still necessary, just like when you apply for a credit card via a mail offer. Sometimes the credit department requires a down payment before we can ship the order. I hope this explains the process and I am truly sorry for any frustration caused.
