The Echinacea, which was originally ordered in the spring, was barely alive when it was delivered by USPS five days after it was supposedly shipped. I unpackaged and watered it and planted it in the ground two days later and kept the soil moist. Not surprising, the plant did not survive. The quality of the merchandise has declined since I began ordering in 2014; packaging is still outstanding, but that matters little if the plants are not healthy and shipping takes several days.

Bluestone delivers healthy plants that take off quickly as soon as they are planted. Adding my care, they establish and thrive. Only once I have had to inform them that 1 plant was damaged and they immediately replaced that entire order (2 different plants).

I always look to Bluestone first for special varieties. Their product is uniformly healthy, intact on arrival, and easy to plant. Their website is easy to negotiate. I think they’re reliable and worthy of the expense.
Truthfully, their coir pots — meant to be planted, rootball and all — do not work for me. I remove them. In my sandy clay soil, very fast draining, the coir dries out and the roots do not penetrate. (And this is after much composting.)
I recycle the torn coir into my town’s composting pile.

Customer service is beyond excellent and helpful. The plants come hardy and ready to be planted. I absolutely love the biodegradable containers the plants come in to go right in the ground. That way, if your like me, the plants will thrive because the soil didn't break up and fall off or the roots didn't get broken during planting. This company is top notch and I wouldn't even think of getting my plants anywhere else!

As always, the seedlings arrived in excellent condition. Even though Fedex delivery was poor -- the package was left on the porch, no ring of door bell, overnight in the rain, the plants were so carefully packed and protected that they all survived! Thank you!

The pre-planned approach was exactly the way I wanted to take. I took advantage of the provided planting layout to clear my area. I wanted to wait until the plants actually arrived to do the actual hole digging. Measuring and planting took two days working each day for about 4 hours. I have adjusted the layout slightly as this portion of the garden is visible from two sides. BP provided an alternate layout that gave me confidence that my approach will look good.

The plants look excellent and the space is well filled. Another benefit of this garden is that they offer expansion packages. A capability that I will be taking advantage of next year.

My experience with Bluestone Perennials has been excellent. The packaging has been very very good.Everything arrives in its place. Nothing is loose.
Their plants are in biodegradable pots that can be planted directly into soil. Hence no disturbance to the plants. I will order from them again & I will recommend that others order from Bluestone.

I like the plant coir pot that can be put in soil whole without disturbing the newly shipped plants by taking them out of pots and shocking them with new soil.

The six plants I ordered came right on time as scheduled. They were packaged extraordinarily well so arrived in perfect condition. I loved that written directions on what to do to get ready for the plants when they arrived were provided at time of order. Additional written directions were also sent with the plants. They are now planted and are doing well. This experience with Bluestone Perennials was my first and I'm already planning what to order for Spring. I am extremely pleased and highly recommend this company.

My monarda just arrived in good condition and arrived when expected. I was surprised that they were still moist.
I appreciate that they use compostable pots. They make the plants easy to plant and save all that plastic from the environment. I quickly got my new plants in the ground (they send directions for assistance) and can’t wait to see them next year.
I modified my original order and found that Bluestone was easy to work with. They got my new order out to me in time to give it time to establish before freezing temps begin.

Very honorable when FedEx dented the box, turned the plants upside down and basically devastated a plant. They replaced it and also sent me two that were missing from the order.

I reached out recently to complain about a hellebore that did not at all thrive (unlike the others I planted), as well as one sent to complete the order placed last spring and only received this past week (it must have been grown between the spring and now... two measly leaves, one of which looks like it's going to die). So far no response from customer service. The lamia did miserably as well. Very disappointed.
