Awful Onboarding

The onboarding process was a cluster. Ended up unable to transfer funds in to my new accounts to add to the initial deposits. Bank5 Connect kept coming up with new roadblocks simply because I'm one of 300 million Americans whose data have been leaked. While the issues were finally solved, all I can is one more screw up by Bank5 Connect and I'm closing my accounts. I wouldn't recommend this bank to a friend or even an enemy.

As an online-only bank, we take identity validation very seriously and will not open an account until we have verified that the applicant is who they claim to be. While these policies are in place to protect unsuspecting consumers from having bank accounts fraudulently opened in their name, they can sometimes inadvertently result in a cumbersome experience for valid applicants. My wife and I had a CD maturing and…

My wife and I had a CD maturing and when I called to ask Bank5 to match the rates from other banks for renewing, the person answering the phone was very helpful and professional. Unfortunately Bank5 could not match the other bank rates but nonetheless I received nothing less than top professional service throughout my time utilizing Bank 5's services. Thank you.

I was assured by your staff a week…

I was assured by your staff a week before my CD got matured that your bank will match the current CD rates compared to other banks. I was offered by three other banks 5.35% pa. and your bank was offering 5.15 pa. On maturity date I called and I was told that I have to open a checking account and the management will review and decide the rate. They said there is absolutely no guarantee that they will match the other bank’s rate! Then what was the necessity for me to open a checking account ? It’s a meaningless and senseless policy. Anyway, Bank5 can have their own policies. But it should not be a source of disappointment, causing inconvenience to their customers. Then I was told that the bank wants to know how serious and genuine the customer is !! My response was, that I have left my money for two full years with this bank. Was that insufficient for the bank to know my seriousness? I have absolutely no complaints about the bank and their functionalities. I would still love to be your customer provided you match the CD rates offered by other banks without me opening a ‘checking’ account. The choice is yours !

Extremely difficult for existing customers to open an additional account

It was extremely difficult for us as existing Bank5 connect customers to open a 3rd account. It was almost like they didn’t want us to open the Jumbo Savings Account so they wouldn’t have to pay us the additional interest. Our account was declined and then we had to send multiple secure emails asking for things. It took 4-5 days to get this resolved. It was beyond frustrating and made us want to move our money completely from Bank5. We’ve never had any issues with Bank5 before and this seems to be ok now but it was not a good experience.

I tried to give you more money but you didn't take it.

My 6-month CD matured. As it renewed, I tried to use the process for adding more money to it for the next 6 months. It looked like I followed all the steps to transfer money from my credit union, but it never happened, and there was no follow up.
Epilogue: a very helpful and friendly customer service rep called me up, and we worked through what might have caused the hiccup. We got the process going again, and she made sure that the money transfer was prompt and successful. My money is now exactly where it needs to be. My thanks to all involved.

I gave Bank5 a high rating because I could always get a real person on the phone, they were always responsive and had answers. I had the ability to go online and check on my accounts and investments. They consistently sent me updates about upcoming dates such as date of maturity for CD's, growth 'To Date' etc.

Quick and easy

The website is easy to use. Have your information ready. Took about 10 minutes. I was also able to communicate easily when I had a question. Confirmations were emailed to me right away. The app is also easy to use and pretty thorough, as far as the account information you can obtain without having to go through the website. Altogether highly recommend.

Bank5 has the best customer service team.

Bank5 Connect has the best customer service team. My interactions with the staff have always been nothing less than exceptional. I would have rated 5 stars but was required to call in even after leaving a written instruction on handling CD upon maturity.

I love this bank

I love this bank, I always get a hold of a real human customer rep helping quickly, and not to mention resolving my problems or answering my questions quickly. Not to mention the great interest in my personal checking account is a Plus. Love it and definitely recommend Bank5 Connect!

Online Banking Made Easy

I find it easy to access my accounts and open additional ones as well. The one area I’m not sure of is the ability to make cash deposits remotely as my funds are direct deposited. That is why this is four stars and not five because I’m not sure if there are easy accessible local facilities for that purpose. I also find their rates to be competitive in an ever fluctuating market.

Responsive to customer requests.

I asked for an ACH transfer of an account to a different bank.
I needed the transfer to happen in two different transactions.
Bank5 was very helpful, and processed the request.
Other banks I've dealt with have been far less helpful.

Setting up my account was not difficult, especially with the help of my customer service rep, Simone. She guided me through the process, and was very prompt in responding when I needed direction in making the transfer of funds to my new account. Thanks again, Simone!

People were very helpful and knowledgeable. Fast responses

The customer service people were very helpful. I used video chat, phone calls I believe, and online chat. All were quick and helpful. The process itself had some glitches. That is the reason I had to contact the customer help center. From there on things went fairly smoothly
