Our Chihuahua need emergency care over…

Our Chihuahua need emergency care over the weekend while we were traveling and we ended up filing a claim once we were home. The benefits were applied exactly as promised and we were paid promptly before the 30 days. We have a very healthy dog and never thought we would need insurance, but a kidney stone was an unexpected event and quite costly. We were grateful for the wonderful doctors who took care of our baby and for having insurance to cover his treatment.

Rottweiler with epilepsy

My Rottweiler started having seizures at 1 year old. He was diagnosed with epilepsy by the time he was 2 and was have 5-8 seizures a week. His vet bills were very expensive, By the time he was 4.5 years old, the medication he took to control his seizures had started affecting his liver. I’m so glad I had Pets Best! They gave me piece of mind when I had to bring my big boy to the emergency vet due to cluster grand mal seizures. When it’s time to get our next family addition, I will choose pets Best again!

Chronic illness benefit

My dog was diagnosed with Addisons a few months after obtaining his policy.PetsBest has been great throughout with his needs for medication after the initial ICU stay.

Pets best takes away the stress of cost

Pets best is very clear on what they cover and why- and they cover a ton. I can’t begin to say how happy we are with our coverage with multiple big dogs- our 1st year with coverage one of our puppies needed to stay overnight at an emergency animal hospital and pet’s best took the financial concerns right out of the care our big girl needed.

A great company to have pet coverage with

Like all of us, we get insurance hoping not to use it, but are so happy to have it when we need it. I have had a policy on my dog with PetsBest for over sever years, and they have been amazing on all preventative and illness care. Simple and prompt claims process.

Never again

2 different dogs in a row they wouldn’t cover because I put in the claim before the policy kicked in. After 7 months, really?!?
They also picked everything apart and kept having me send in the same invoices over over saying dogs name wasn’t on it when it clearly was. It was a painful and unnecessary experience and I, once again, will be getting rid of pets best.
A colossal disappointment
Never once did I get totalk to a human, this was all automated

I currently have an open BBB claim…

I currently have an open BBB claim against Pets Best Pet Health Insurance. My claim took over three weeks to be paid and was then paid incorrectly and lab work fecal testing yearly exam with vaccines was applied to my deductible! I have BestWellness Routine Care with No ZERO Deductible! They are trying to put it all under a sick pet- who gives vaccines to a sick pet? I called, spoke with Richard he informed me it would be 15-40 days before it would be looked at. I have dealt with other Pet Insurance before and never had these issues.

Slow and denied valid claims

I purchased Pets Best most comprehensive plan after adopting a new dog, and now, five months later, I just canceled it. Don't bother with this company. Keep looking.

In those five months, I filed two claims. Both claims two about 6 weeks to process and then they denied everything as "pre-existing conditions", including things like a vet appointment and antibiotics for an open wound that occurred two months after the policy started.

Luckily, those were fairly small bills, but I can’t imagine how angry I would be if it was something more serious and more expensive. Based on my experience with them, I imagine that would involve some financial struggle while waiting for reimbursement on two month old claims followed by fighting for even longer to get the eventual denials reviewed.

My Pets Best experience has not been stellar

My Pets Best experience has not been stellar. The turnaround time takes far longer than suggested at enrollment. For us, very few items have been covered; such as thousands in Ivdd surgery and all accompanying visits, meds, mri, X-rays, etc. (which would not be covered by “any” ins company) Any kind of tummy trouble, which for us is considered a pre existing condition because our dog was diagnosed with tummy trouble before we enrolled.

The lesson learned here is to sign up for pet insurance the very day you bring your dog home. Absolutely. Do. Not. Wait.

Every Pet Owner Should get Insurance from Pet's Best!

I have been using Pet's Best as soon as I rescued my girl 4 years ago and it is probably the best decision ever for her. Unfortunately my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma recently at 4 years old, but Pet's Best has been amazing helping cover for almost all the expenses for her treatment. We are still currently going through her Chemo and she is receiving it very well and running around the house doing regular activities. It is a very expensive procedure and at only 4 years old with the help of Pet's Best I am doing whatever we can to make everyday her best! Thank you Pet's Best for helping me get some more time with my best friend!

Owed $8oo - never paid

I submitted 4 claims that were reviewed. I received 4 EOB's and issued 4 payments. The EOBs state the payments (totaling over $800) were issued on 9/10.
I have yet to receive the money and my bank shows nothing pending. What type of company closes out a claim & sends a survey asking for you to review the claims process, but forgets to actually paid you.

Was not expecting to get the amount…

Was not expecting to get the amount back from the vet visit. However, I had to contact customer service regarding my check because I did not receive the initial check. I did receive the re-issued check without problem

It’s worth the wait.

I’ve had a really good experience w/ PetsBest. I highly recommend it to all my friends & dog training clients. Personally, I can cover the cost of regular vet bills, but the skyrocketing prices of emergency vet care can be catastrophic. I’ve come to realize that pet insurance is now a necessity to financially protect pets during unexpected emergencies Its can literally be the difference between life & death. I personally chose a high deductible w/ low co-pay. I had to use Pets Best twice for emergency surgeries within the first year. I am extremely thankful for Pets Best. My 3 yr old lab would likely not be here today w/out it. Submitting the bills was super easy. I just took a photo of the itemized bill stating paid in full, and submit it through the app. Both times Pets Best covered the full 90% of everything I submitted. The only reason I only gave 4 out of 5 stars is 1) The pet owner has to pay the full bill to the vet at time of service (thank goodness for CareCredit) 2) The claim sits for several weeks (w/ no movement on the account) before Best Pet begins to investigate & process the claim. That stage takes a week or more. Once the claim as been approved, it makes another 5-7 business days for the money to be deposited into owners account. It leaves the pet owner potentially paying a hefty credit card interest payment and stressing for weeks wondering if the claim will be paid or denied. Despite all that, I still highly recommend Pets Best. In the end, Pet’s Best has always come through for me & my dogs.

Excellent company!!!

Pets Best has provided coverage for my young dog who had unexpected health issues. It is an easy process to submit claims and customer service is always very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this company to people who want coverage for their pets.

Easy to file a claim, but long time for reimbursement

Filing a claim is super easy, but the turn around time for reimbursement has been longer than what was initially understood. 2-3 weeks for a reimbursement isn't bad, but recently have had a few go as long 5-6 weeks. I'm overall happy with petsbest and what kinds of coverage they offer.

Great experiences!

They have been very easy and simple to work with. My plan details are very clear about what is covered and what costs are expected of me. It takes the finances out of the decision-making process when it comes to my pet's care, which is a huge relief. Thank you, Pets Best!
