Easy good experience

Easy good experience. Rented a car on the gold coast for a week and was very happy with the service. This is the third time I've used them and will be using them again.

Over 1K in fake charges

Had 1 trip with no problem. Then after an app update yesterday the app kept crashing when I was trying to extend a trip. This morning I discovered that even though it showed an error - could not book - it actually charged my card 7 times to a total of over 1K. I was actually talking to an online support person through this whole process who kept asking me to retry…
“Support” has been stonewalling me all day saying they have raised it with their finance team but can’t get a response. So they may have stolen 1K. Stay away from this company.

Very unreliable

Very unreliable. We booked and paid for a rental car, only for it to be cancelled by Driver Mate less than a week before pick up due to a "first class customer" booking the vehicle over the top of us. Now we have to wait 7 days for a refund, and try to book another vehicle. We will be booking with another company, as we can't trust Driver Mate after this experience.

SCAM!!!

SCAM!!!

My Mother ordered a drivemate device for her old car and everything worked well, until the order got automatically cancelled, but she didn’t get a refund, so she wrote to the customer support and guess what? NO ANSWER!

Beware of Scams like this in the Internet!
If I could give 0 Stars I would!

Drive Mate Is Truly A Great Mate!☺️👍🏻

I would say, Drive Mate has offer a great customer service. Support team is very organise, polite and responsive. They make sure to provide their excellent assistance whenever I need it.

I would highly recommend Drive Mate for my family and friends and even to everyone who's looking for a great customer service experience!

Absolutely rubbish company do not rent…

Absolutely rubbish company do not rent a car from them - they will find any reason to keep the $250 deposit and will suddenly stop responding.

My Partner and I used this to book a car over the weekend - brought it back and filled the fuel up.

However as the fuel gauge was slightly under the F symbol they decided to keep the entire $250 deposit.

Do not sign up do not hire from this lot

DriveMate has been operating in Singapore for a number of years. The local setup is obviously the clone of the one in Singapore. I found the sign up process flawed and intrusive. Credit check and financial information for a car hire when transactions are charged to a credit card? Signing up is difficult the system is flawed especially when uploading image of license. Takes ages to get a reply from customer service. The price listed for hiring a vehicle does not reflect the real cost with additional charges. Be careful by disclosing your financials this operation seems to be a one owner one man show, there’s something amiss!!!!

Our verification is deliberately stringent to safeguard our hosts' cars. Others run the same financial checks but only after booking. All personal data is treated in strictest confidence.
since this review our customer service response time have been drastically reduced and are now best-in-class.

This was an absolute shambles

This was an absolute shambles. The car we hired broke down & the owner wouldn’t respond to us at all when we needed help. He even went further & left a bad review for us as customers about us having a sook. Unbelievable. The car was disgusting inside hadn’t seen a vacuum or a wipe in who knows how long. The site didn’t warn us, but then told us (after we broke down) this specific car had the same problems in the past. Wouldn’t recommend this app. But if you give it a go, Don’t hire the cube owned by Quintin M.

Sorry for our slow response to this unfortunate scenario. We do ask guests to call us for any breakdown rather than the host.

Absolutely disgusting customer service

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Be aware of traps! You need to
Pay upfront but if you cancel, you forfeit your entire payment. No warning until after you have cancelled.

There is a window after booking when you can cancel for a full refund, but if the trip is imminent, then cancellation is not possible as we still need to pay the host, who has had their car blocked out for you and thus unavailable to rent to other guests. I had some much trouble getting my id…

I had some much trouble getting my id upload to site and the lovely person SECA helped for hours trying to work what was going wrong but never gave up and finally I got it done but the manner in which I was dealt with was just beyond this world so friendly helpful and polite great asset to company and highly suggest them and SECA to all my friend and family to use this wonderful company over other drive share companies thanks so much

Avoid at all cost

This is a platform to avoid at all cost. I rented my car out for 24h, the guest kept the car for 48h without any communication, no communication from either guest or drive mate to keep you up to date. I had to keep chasing them and they had no idea what was happening. Luckily, the car was returned and the interior from the front row to the third row was as if it was taken to a beach party with sand and rubbish everywhere. I contacted drive mate and informed them about the situation but nothing was done about it. The car was driven with a total of 811km with only 100kms allocated to the guest. Drive mate hasn't even paid me for the booking fees, nor the extra 711kms driven, nor a cleaning fee. Till now I have not heard from them and it has been a week now. Please do yourself a favour and do not rent your car out unless you want to have the same experience as me.

Don’t rent Anands cars in Melbourne

In Melbourne there is an owner putting cheap cars on then cancelling the bookings or the cars aren’t there.
His name is Anand. Do not book any of his cars. We went on a wild goose chase on Saturday. First he cancelled a booking request a few days earlier. Then I rebooked a different car, not realising it was another of his. Arrived to a parking lot to collect it. It wasn’t there and the car park attendant knew nothing of it. I then called him for almost an hour until he responded. He then said he had another car a kilometre away in another carpark as the one we booked hadn’t been returned. We walked 1.5km to the next car park and the car he sent us via txt wasn’t there. He didn’t respond to us with any explanation or how to remedy the situation. So we were left without a car after wasting 3 hrs trying to pick one up.
My partner then booked through Enterprise for the same price the next day and it was seamless.
The only good thing was the customer service people at Drive Mate refunded my money within 7 days.
I won’t use this service again as it was completely unreliable.

I hired my car out and had a nightmare…

I hired my car out and had a nightmare of an experience . My car was returned on a trailer . There was scratches annd dents all over the car, 2 dented and badly scratched mag wheels and the gearbox was broken . I looked deeper into the hirers account and noticed the person that picked up the car didn’t match the profile pic . I contacted support and sent them CCTV footage they replied saying the hirers account has been banned from further activity and they are investigating the person who picked the car up . They basically hired my car and thrashed the crap out of it . Fuel completely empty, he did 850km in 3 days ? He said he was just using it to pick his kids up over the weekend. I lodged a dispute and drive mates resolution was that all the scratches can be polished out so they won’t repair them and the rims aren’t covered as the hirers pickup photos weren’t clear enough to determine if the rims were already damaged . No mention of the person who picked the car up or about the gearbox damage . I have messaged multiple times and get no reply , I have called them and they always say somebody will call me back but they never do. I’ll be seeking legal advice and taking this matter all the way to the courts until it is resolved fairly.

We would say that is a borrower arrives who doesn't match the profile pic then please contact us rather than give them the keys, when possible, which we understand isn't always the case.
It sounds like some of the damage should be covered, plus the excess kms and the petrol, but we'll need to investigate further for you, Gaurav and Dirk-Jan, your Drive mate co-founders

Bad service

Bad service. They took 250$ deposit from my account without permission. (No info about this deposits on their web). Now its been 9days since and still havent refund from them.

Poor service

The first time renting a vehicle for a day, the gas tank was emptied and the light was on before I started to drive. GREAT.

The second time to rent a vehicle again, the owner cancelled my book at the last minute. And customer service replied me nothing I can do about it, can even leave a review for the owner. VERY HELPFUL.

You should have been refunded for the petrol you had to add.
