They Don’t Sell What They Advertise
I really wanted to love this company. After scouring our local hardware stores and looking at online home improvement stores, we took a chance on ordering vinyl shutters for our home from Architectural Depot. The website showed that the shutters we needed were available and were supposed to ship within a week. We received an order confirmation and also a solicitation to write a review on the “shopper approved” website. The very next day, we receive a shipping update email from architectural depot stating that due to a manufacturing delay, we would not receive our shutters for another 7 weeks. Then, after waiting the 7 weeks, and the company missing their own deadline, we tried to contact the company over the phone, email and online chat. We were given AI bots to deal with or general information about how somebody will contact us soon. Nobody ever contacted us to resolve this issue. Every time we went through their phone menu of options, the bot would automatically hang up on us or give us the non-functioning “customer service” number. It wasn’t until we finally submitted a request for a return that we received a legitimate customer service number and we spoke to an actual human being, who stated so plainly (as if we were supposed to just assume this) that our shutters were discontinued all along. We requested a refund immediately and we had to ask for a confirmation number for the refund. We never received an email from this company confirming that we were told by a human that our refund was processing and even worse, we are still receiving automated emails and voicemails that our shutters were shipping later than expected. How absurd is this going to get? So, the lesson here folks is this: what you see on the website may not be an item that this company has access to sell, and if you are expecting the company to be up front and honest with you about this, you may wait 7 weeks or more to find that out, and who knows if you’ll ever get your money back.
